Dove Peptide Bond Strength is Unilever's mass-market answer to the Olaplex-K18 bond-repair trend that has dominated professional hair care since 2015. The claim is that protein peptides — short chains of amino acids — penetrate the hair fibre deeper than standard hydrolysed proteins and support the internal keratin bonds that damage weakens. The chemistry is legitimate; peptide-based repair is well-established in professional formulations.

Our three-week test on colour-treated, mid-back-length hair (previously breakage-prone and rough at the ends) showed clearly the strongest strengthening effect of any Dove conditioner variant we have tested. Hair felt genuinely more resilient during combing by wash 3 (versus wash 4-5 for Intense Repair), and split-end fraying looked visibly reduced by wash 4. The 4.5-star Amazon.in rating (higher than Intense Repair's 4.3) reflects that first-wave buyers are seeing real differences.

Caveat on protein: peptide-heavy conditioners can be too much for hair that is protein-sensitive or protein-overloaded. Watch for straw-like, brittle, hard feel — that is a signal to alternate with a moisture-heavy conditioner.
