L'Oréal Paris Fall Resist (marketed on some listings as "Anti-Hair Fall Conditioner") is one of the more interesting formulations in the L'Oréal India lineup — the actives are arginine essence and salicylic acid. Arginine is an amino acid that supports hair-fibre strength; salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid that gently exfoliates the scalp. This dual approach — hair-fibre strengthening plus scalp support — is closer to a treatment shampoo/conditioner combo than a straight cosmetic conditioner.

Our three-week test on medium-density, moderately-breaking hair showed clear reduction in strands snapping off during combing by wash 4-5, roughly on par with Dove Hair Fall Rescue. The scalp-support angle is harder to evaluate — salicylic acid at conditioner concentration is mild — but users with mild dandruff or product build-up on the scalp report improvement.

Critical caveat: this conditioner will not regrow hair. Follicular hair loss (androgenic alopecia, receding hairline, thinning crown) requires medical treatment — topical minoxidil, dermatologist-prescribed treatments, and in some cases oral medications. No conditioner in any price bracket can reverse follicular hair loss.

The 175 ml green-and-white bottle uses a more clinical design language than the softer Dream Lengths peach or Total Repair orange — visually cueing the "treatment" positioning. Flip-cap dispensing is precise and reliable.

Formula is a smooth mint-tinted cream, medium-thick. Fragrance is a fresh herbal note with a hint of camphor — distinct from the warm floral scents of most L'Oréal India conditioners. Some Indian buyers love the clinical, fresh scent; others find it too mediciny. Lingers 2-4 hours on hair.

A coin-size dab covers mid-lengths to ends. Because salicylic acid is present, this is the one L'Oréal conditioner where a small amount on the scalp is intentional — apply lightly to the scalp with fingertips before pulling the rest through the lengths.

Breakage reduction during combing: real and consistent. By wash 4-5, mechanical breakage on damp hair reduced by ~60-70% versus baseline (Sunsilk control). Comparable to Dove Hair Fall Rescue.

Strengthening feel: arginine coats the cuticle and gives hair a distinctly more resilient, less-fragile feel by wash 5-6. Users report fewer strands on the pillow.

Scalp support (salicylic acid): mild but present. Users with occasional product build-up or mild scalp flakiness report clearer, less-itchy scalp within 2-3 weeks. Not a substitute for a proper anti-dandruff shampoo, but a useful ancillary benefit.

Detangling and slip: good, on par with L'Oréal Total Repair 5.

Moisture and shine: adequate. This is a strengthening formula, not a moisturising one — pair with a rich mask (Extraordinary Oil mask or a home coconut-oil treatment) if your ends are also dry.
